The Lees-McRae College Bobcats men's basketball team fell 75-53
Saturday afternoon in Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference action
with St. Andrew's Presbyterian College. The Bobcats fall to 5-19,
(4-13 CVAC) while SAPC improves to 10-16, (7-12 CVAC).
With the game tied at six, a three pointer from Richard Stone
gave the Knights the lead, and the home side never looked back.
The Knights kept building onto their lead in the second half by
shooting 61% in the final frame.
Stone hit 4-of-5 from behind the arc as St. Andrews made nine
3-pointers on the day at a 56% clip, leading the home side with a
game high 16 points. Taiwon Grooms and Marcus Hoke each bucketed
13 points. Keith Josey was the fourth Knight in double-digits with
10 points.
SAPC made 24-of-47 (51.1%) of its field goals.
Darius Roper, (pictured top left), led the Bobcats with 15
points and five assists. Stephen Haymer grabbed a team-high seven
boards.
The Bobcats will host Limestone College at 7:30pm Monday
evening. The game will be the first back at Williams Gymnasium
after four consecutive road games.
