The Lees-McRae College Bobcats snapped a six game losing streak
defeating Coker College 73-58 Saturday afternoon in
Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference action. The game marked the
last home contest for seniors Aaron Dugger, Mike Fox and Henry
Williams, who were honored prior to tip off.
Darius Roper, (pictured top left), led the Bobcats scoring
attack with game high's in both points with 13 and assists with
five. Stephen Haymer added 11 points and a team high eight
rebounds while Williams contributed 10 points.
Ben Brim was the only Cobras player to register double digit
scoring with 11. Boycho Branzon shot 100% in the game, going 3 for
3 from the field and making his only attempt from the charity strip
for seven points while also pulling down a game high 12
rebounds.
The win improves the Bobcats record to 6-21, (5-15 CVAC) while
Coker falls to 7-20, (4-16 CVAC).
The Bobcats will now turn their attention to Monday's CVAC
Tournament first round. The Bobcats travel to Belmont Abbey for a
7:30pm tip off while the Cobras will travel to St. Andrew's
Presbyterian College.
