The visiting Limestone College Saints swept the Lees-McRae
College Lady Bobcats this afternoon in Carolinas-Virginia Athletic
Conference action. The Saints shutout the Lady Bobcats in both
games, winning game one 4-0 and game two 9-0.
Amanda Dodson took the mound in game one giving up three earned
runs. The Lady Bobcats struggled at the plate, managing just two
hits. The defense for Lees-McRae wasn't much help to Dodson
either, committing three errors.
Nicole Baxter started on the mound for the home side in game two
but ran into to trouble early walking a pair of Lady Saints. After
giving up a pair of homeruns and the Lady Bobcats trailing 7-0,
Lauren Gisler relieved Baxter in the third inning. After closing
the third with the final out, Gisler, (pictured top left), gave up
a two run shot in the fourth as the Saints cruised to the
victory.
The Lady Bobcats will return to action Sunday afternoon when
CVAC foe Coker College visits for a doubleheader. Game times are
set for 1:00pm and 3:00pm.
