The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats split a pair of Carolinas-Virginia
Athletic Conference games with Barton College Saturday afternoon,
winning game one 5-0 and dropping game two 9-5. The Lady Bobcats
record now stands at 14-24, (4-14 CVAC).
Melody Jo Williams, (pictured top left), led the way in game way
going two for three from the plate, scoring two runs. Amanda
Dodson went the distance on the mound for the Lady Bobcats,
pitching a two hit shutout while striking out four.
In game two, Ashlyn Birmingham led the way from the plate going
two for three while Williams and Nicole Baxter each picked up one
hit in their three at bats.
The Lady Bobcats will now prepare for the upcoming CVAC
Championships this weekend. The Championships will include all 11
CVAC members in a double elimination tournament.
