Zach Mryncza had a game high five goals to lead the visiting St.
Andrew's Presbyterian College Knights to a 24-7 win over the
Lees-McRae College Bobcats in Carolinas-Virginia Athletic
Conference men's lacrosse game Monday afternoon. The Knights
improve to 9-4, (4-1 CVAC), while the Bobcats remain winless at
0-12, (0-4 CVAC).
After exchanging possessions off the opening face off, Sean Todd
started things off for the Knights at 13:13 of the first quarter.
The Knights would press for two more quick goals in just over two
minutes time, and extend their lead to 6-0 before Tyler Stieber put
the Bobcats on the board. Neil Sleight would cut the deficit to
four goals to give the Bobcats life, however the Knights would
respond with a 5-0 run to take control of the contest.
Mryncza also chipped in an assist with his five goals for a game
high six points. Teammate Dalen Crouse also registered six points
with three goals and three assists. Tom Incontrera found the back
of the net four time for the Knights while Cole Howell picked up a
hat trick and also added a pair of assists. Dan Hartzell scored
twice while six others registered singles.
Stieber and Matt Markey paced the Bobcats with a pair of goals
each. Neil Sleight picked up his eleventh of the year while Zach
Cockerham and Dane Robinson each registered their first collegiate
goals. Markey, (pictured top left), extended his goal scoring
streak to four games with the first multi goal game of his
collegiate career.
The Bobcats schedule doesn't let up, as they host CVAC leading
and nationally ranked Limestone College Wednesday afternoon. The
#9 Saints visit Tate Field for a 4:00pm start.
