The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats dropped a heartbreaking 2-1 OT loss
to Randolph-Macon College Sunday afternoon, bringing their record
to 0-3. The Yellow Jackets earned the win in their home and season
opening game to start 2007 1-0.
Freshman Tiffany Rodman (Corona, CA) put the Lady Bobcats ahead
1-0 with her first collegiate tally in the first half. The Yellow
Jackets evened things up in the 60th minute before the
heartbreaking OT goal in the 93rd minute to steal the Lady Bobcats
first win of the season.
"We saw some glimpses of brilliance from our young team this
afternoon," commented Head Coach Renee Lopez. "Due to our roster
make up of 20 freshmen and sophomores, we're still battling through
some growing pains."
"It was great for Tiffany Rodman (pictured top left) to get on
the scoresheet with her first collegiate goal," added Coach
Lopez.
The Lady Bobcats will be back in action Tuesday afternoon with a
game in Washington, DC against Trinity Washington University.
