BARTON, NC--The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats earned a weekend split
in Conference Carolinas action Sunday afternoon, sweeping Barton
College, (30-22, 30-18, 30-26) after falling short in a
come-from-behind five game marathon a day earlier with Mount
Olive. The Lady Bobcats move to 10-8, (6-1 Conference Carolinas)
while Barton falls to 0-8 in conference play and 1-15 overall.
Senior Daviana Metti (Cordoba, Argentina) registered a match
high 21 kills for the Lady Bobcats to lead the attack offensively
while freshman Whitney Kiser (Connelly Springs, NC) picked up eight
kills, a pair of solo blocks and a pair of block assists. Lauren
Dickover (Las Vegas, NV) handled setting duties in the three game
sweep; earning a match high 40 assists while also chipping in a
pair of service aces.
Barton was led by Michelle Walker who posted ten kills and 11
digs while a teammate had six kills to go along with eight
digs.
Going 4-1 in their last five games, all on the road, the Lady
Bobcats return home to Williams Gymnasium for their next seven
games. Belmont Abbey starts the home stand next Friday, September
28th with match time scheduled for 7:00pm.
