Thomasville, NC--Lees-McRae College men's soccer player Berin
Boracic has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference
Carolinas Player of the Week during week one in the 2007
season.
The Orlando, FL native has led the Bobcats to a roaring 4-0
start, which includes three road wins, averaging 1.5 goals per
game. In an 8-0 romp over Francis Marion to open the campaign, the
junior turned in a two goal, two assist performance, resuming his
All-Region form from a year ago, and assisting on the game winning
goal. In a 6-2 drubbing of UNC-Pembroke Boracic found the net once
again before being held scoreless in a 2-1 win over King. He then
responded with a three goal, one assist performance on the road
against University of Charleston-West Virginia to push his points
per game average to 3.75 to start 2007 on a torrid pace.
Boracic' current points per game pace (Points are figured by a
combination of goals and assists.) will almost double (67.5) his
career high season total set a season ago (34), should he continue
to find the net as he has in the Bobcats first four games.
The Bobcats host #15 Clayton State Thursday evening at
7:30pm.
