BANNER ELK, N.C. - Senior Natalie Burns had five kills, four
digs and two block assists to give the Lees-McRae College Lady
Bobcats a 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-21) win in a conference match over
the Coker College Lady Cobras Saturday afternoon on senior day in
Williams Gymnasium.
The Lady Bobcats controlled the match early with a 25-17 set one
win. They went on to complete the sweep with a 25-19 set two win
and a 25-21 set three win.
With the win the Lady Bobcats improve to 16-13 overall and 13-5 in
conference play, while the Lady Cobras drop to 2-24 overall and
remain winless in the conference at 0-17.
Outside hitter Megan Epperson (St. John, Ind.) led the Lees-McRae
attack with 8 kills. Epperson also contributed nine digs on
defense. Whitney Kiser (Connelly Springs, N.C.) had 6 kills and
four service aces. Tracey Copley (Virginia Beach, Va.) tied Burns
(Orlando, Fla.) with five kills. Kell Bodgan (Leawood, Kan.) led
the team with 12 digs. Trisha Reese (Hanover, Penn.) passed out 18
assists, while Lauren Dickover (Las Vegas, Nev.) handed out 14
assists.
For Coker, Trisha Moore and Kristen Teets had six kills. Moore
also had four block assists. Courtney Nelson picked up nine digs,
while Moore handed out 14 assists. Kelsey Carlson had three
service aces.
The Lady Bobcat's next match is on the road at Mount Olive Friday,
November 7th at 7 p.m.
