BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Ian Dargavel, who had a goal and an assist,
led the nationally 11th ranked Lees-McRae Bobcats (8-1 overall) to
a 3-0 non-conference win over Pikeville College Tuesday at Tate
Field.
Nick Robinson scored in the first minute on a cross from Steve
Nixon that left Robinson with a wide open net to make it 1-0,
Bobcats.
Dargavel scored his goal in the third minute on a pass from Ignacio
Falco that left him wide open in the box to make it 2-0.
The Bobcats were held scoreless until Grant Elder scored his first
goal of the season in the 83rd minute to make it 3-0. Elder
settled a cross by Dargavel and ripped a shot past the keeper.
The Bobcats' defense held the Bears to one shot.
The Bobcats travel to Wilson, North Carolina to take on the Barton
College Bulldogs Saturday, September 27th at 7 p.m. in a Conference
Carolinas match.
