BANNER ELK, N.C. - Tiffany Rodman beat her defender and ripped a
shot over the keeper's head from 20-yards in the 87th minute to
give the Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats a 1-0 non-conference win over
Warren-Wilson College Tuesday night at Tate Field.
It was Rodman's, a sophomore from Corona, Calif., fourth goal of
the season and second game-winning goal.
The Lady Bobcats dominated possession throughout the game, but
could not find the net until Rodman's drought-ending goal.
Lees-McRae outshot Warren-Wilson 32-0.
Sophomore goalkeeper Brittany Bolton (Roanoke, Va.) recorded the
win for Lees-McRae without facing a shot, while Rachel Schonberg
took the loss for Warren-Wilson despite her ten saves.
With the win Lees-McRae improves to 8-2 overall, while
Warren-Wilson falls to 2-3-2.
"Tonight we proved that if you keep fighting for 90 minutes you can
be successful," said head coach Renee Lopez. "Tiffany Rodman's
game-winning goal was an example of pure heart and determination
not to lose."
The Bobcats host Pfeiffer University, Saturday, October 4th at 1
p.m., during Homecoming weekend, for their next match.
