SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats used a
first half goal from Conference Carolinas Player of the Week Vickie
Rich to defeat the Converse College Valkyries, 1-0, Tuesday.
With the win, the Bobcats improve to 9-5 on the season and 6-2
in Conference Carolinas action. They currently sit in third place
in the conference standings.
For the match, Lees-McRae's Vickie Rich grabbed the only goal
when she capitalized on a serve from Shaina Ormsby early in the 6th
minute. Rich has scored in the Lady Bobcats last three
matches.
The Valkyries were unable to rally and were held to just 3 shots
for the match. Lees-McRae tallied 7 total shots.
Brittany Bolton earned the win and the shutout for the Lady
Bobcats between the pipes.
Lees-McRae will visit Anderson University on Thursday, October
22nd for their next match.
