CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's cross country
team will make the NCAA Southeast Regional Meet for the second
straight year after a second place team finish in the Conference
Carolinas Championship Meet.
The Bobcats finished second with 52 points, only two points
behind winner Queens.
Kira Shoemaker paced the Bobcats with a time of 19:36 for a
seventh place finish. Carla Swart finished with a time of 19:37 in
eight place, and April Harris ran a 19:47 for tenth place.
Shoemaker, Swart and Harris all received Second Team
All-Conference.
Hannah Henderson, Danielle Lindquist and Cinthia Lehner finished
13th, 14 and 15th respectively with times of 20:05, 20:27 and 20:30
with Henderson and Lindquist rounding out Lady Bobcat scorers.
Henderson, Lindquist and Lehner received Third Team All-Conference
awards.
"I am very proud of the way our women ran today," head coach
Thomas Cason said. "Now we have to prepare for the NCAA Southeast
Regional Meet."
The Lady Bobcats will run in the NCAA Southeast Regional Meet
November 7th at Wingate.
