BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats extended
their winning streak to six matches with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-21,
25-21) win over Converse College Thursday night in Conference
Carolinas women's volleyball action.
The Lady Bobcats winning streak is the highest of the season at
six matches. The win puts them at 15-4 overall and 9-4 in the
conference. They have also won 11 of their last 12 matches.
With the loss, Converse falls to 7-16 overall and 2-8 in the
conference.
Whitney Justice paced the Lady Bobcats with nine kills and a
.421 hitting percentage. Her nine kills came on 19 attempts with
one error. Lauren Hall also had nine kills on 19 attempts with two
errors for a .368 hitting percentage. Taylor Clendenin followed
with eight kills, and Meme Brown had seven kills. Trisha Reese
handed out a match-high 23 assists, and Luana Rocha picked up a
match-high 16 digs.
For Converse, Jerrica Massey had seven kills and two others had
four kills. Lauren Hunsberger had eight assists, and Marisa
Coleman collected eight digs. Massey also had a match-high with
total blocks, one solo and three block assists.
Lees-McRae will host Limestone Saturday for their next match in
Williams Gymnasium.
