BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College Bobcats men's
volleyball team improved to 2-0 in the Lees-McRae College Mountain
Classic with a 3-1 (30-26, 30-25, 28-30, 30-23) win over the
Missouri Valley Vikings Saturday night in Williams Gymnasium to
improve their record to 4-1 on the season.
Colin Kelly led the Bobcats with 22 kills on 48 attempts. Chad
Mercado chipped with 10 kills. Robert Ritchie led the team with 14
digs and recorded nine kills. Juan Ramirez passed out 50 assists
and picked up 11 digs. Jeff Black led the team with five blocks,
and Raphael Vieira had two service aces.
After winning the first two sets 30-26 and 30-25, the Bobcats
stumbled with a 28-30 loss in set three, but the team came back
strong with a 30-23 win in set four for the match win.
