MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team
(10-1) extended their match win streak to nine with two wins
Saturday. The first was a 3-1 (30-20, 30-21, 28-30, 30-27) win
over Eastern Mennonite, and the second win was a 3-0 (30-13, 30-20,
30-13) victory over York College.
In the first game Colin Kelly led the team with 20 kills on 45
attempts and also led the team with four total blocks. Jeremy
Evans and Chad Mercado chipped in with 13 kills. Evans' 13 kills
came on 19 attempts with no errors for a .684 hitting percentage,
while Mercado's 13 kills came on 22 attempts with two errors for a
.500 hitting percentage. Jeff Black added 11 kills for the
Bobcats. Robert Ritchie picked up nine digs, and Juan Ramirez
handed out 62 assists.
In game two, Charles Macias led the team with 11 kills on 14
attempts with one error for a .714 hitting percentage. Macias also
had five service aces. Steven Bunning passed out 30 assists, and
Sean Woodard added seven assists.
The Bobcats will return to action March 7th against Stevenson
University and Philadelphia Biblical University in Owings Mills,
Md.
