RIVERSIDE, CALIF. - The Lees-McRae College Bobcats men's
volleyball team fell to the NAIA's top nationally ranked team,
California Baptist 3-0 (30-19, 30-27, 30-20) Wednesday night in the
second game on the West Coast.
After dropping the first set 30-19, the Bobcats made a run in set
two, but couldn't pull out the win falling 30-27. California
Baptist completed the sweep with a 30-20 set three win for the
match.
Colin Kelly was the only Bobcat in double digit kills with 12
kills. Jeremy Evans had the team's highest hitting percentage with
six kills on 12 attempts with one error for a .417 hitting
percentage. Chad Mercado led the team with two and a half blocks,
and Juan Ramirez passed out 30 assists. Robert Ritchie picked up a
team high 10 digs.
California Baptist had a team .344 hitting percentage in the match
while Lees-McRae only had a .119 hitting percentage.
The Bobcats will play their final game on the West Coast Wednesday
against California State University - Northridge at 7 p.m.
