PENNSYLVANIA - Desiree Cox had 21 points, 15 goals and six
assists, in two games as the Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats
women's lacrosse team defeated Wilmington University 22-11 and lost
to Chestnut Hill College 22-17 on a two day trip to
Pennsylvania.
In game one against Wilmington, Desiree had 10 goals and four
assists for a total of 14 points. Tiffany Paris added six goals
and an assist. Clair Shaw scored four times and Julia Campbell
added two goals in the game.
The Lady Bobcats controlled the game taking off on a 5-0 run to
start the game. Lees-McRae would add six more goals to take an
11-5 lead into the intermission.
Lees-McRae notched another 11 goals in the second half to earn the
22-11 win.
Martha Peacock earned the win in goal saving 14 of the 30 shots she
faced.
Lees-McRae outshot Wilmington 34-30 and won the draw control battle
21-14.
The next day in the game two loss to Chestnut Hill, Desiree scored
five goals including four in the Lady Bobcats 12-goal comeback
attempt in the second half.
Desiree had a total of seven points, five goals and two assists, in
the game. Paris also tallied seven points with six goals and an
assist. Cheryse Cox had four goals, and Lexi King and Abby White
had a goal apiece.
The Lady Bobcats had a sluggish start and fell behind 11-5 after
the first half, but outscored Chestnut Hill12-11 in the second
half. The deficit was too great as the Lady Bobcats fell
22-17.
Lees-McRae will return to action at home to Tate Field against
Converse College March 24th at 4 p.m.
