LAURINBURG, N.C. - Sophomore outside hitter Megan Epperson had a
career day on the court to lead the Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats
to a 3-1(25-16, 23-25, 25-20, 25-21) win over the St. Andrew
Presbyterian College Lady Knights Saturday afternoon in Conference
Carolinas volleyball action.
Epperson had career highs in kills, 17, and in hitting
percentage, .438, to lead the Lady Bobcats. Epperson's
17 kills came on 32 attempts with only two errors in the four set
match. At the other outside, freshman Taylor Clendenin
had nine kills. Whitney Justice was second on the team
with a .375 hitting percentage, seven kills on 16 swings with only
one error. Justice also led the team with two and half
total blocks. Katie-Marie Legg followed with two total
blocks. Megan Mitchell passed out a match-high 37
assists, and Luana Rocha picked up a team-high 16 digs.
Lees-McRae improves to 8-3 overall and 4-0 in the conference,
while St. Andrews drops to 7-6 and 2-2. With the win,
the Lady Bobcats matched their season high win streak at four
wins.
The team will take to the court again Tuesday, September 22nd
against Lenoir-Rhyne at 7 p.m. in Williams Gymnasium.
