DUE WEST, S.C. - The Erskine College Flying Fleet defeated the
Lees-McRae College Bobcats Thursday night 68-45 in Conference
Carolinas basketball action.
The Fleet took an early lead behind three pointers by Dejan
Nedelkovski and Marko Latinovic followed by Chris Gore's back to
back layups to give the Fleet a 14-6 lead. The Fleet would stretch
their lead to ten, 38-28, by halftime.
Erskine would score 13 points to the start the second half
extending their lead to 51-28. Lees-McRae's Sean Hardin would hit
a three pointer to give the Bobcats their first points of the half
to spark an 11-0 run. However, the Fleet would shut out the Bobcats
over the next seven minutes, to take 20 point lead. The Fleet
would hold on to win 68-45.
On the evening, the Fleet shot 48 percent from the field,
including 45 percent from three-point range. Erskine would hold
Lees-McRae to just 31 percent shooting.
Leading the Fleet was Brandon Wright with 19 points and 7
rebounds. Nedelkovski and Gore also contributed 14 points and 10
points respectively.
The Bobcats were led by Sean Hardin with 12 points and Jesse
Hoots with 11 points.
The Bobcats will host Barton Saturday night in Williams
Gymnasium Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. for their next game.
