HIGH POINT, N.C. --- Sophomore setter Megan
Mitchell (Minden, Nev.) has been named the Conference Carolinas
Player of the Week after leading the Lees-McRae College women's
volleyball team to a third straight undefeated worksheet in league
play, announce conference officials Tuesday.
Mitchell paced the Lady Bobcats to their ninth straight win over
conference opponents as Lees-McRae needed only 10 sets to defeat
Belmont Abbey, Mount Olive, and Barton last week. The 5-9 setter
averaged an impressive 11.7 assists per set last week, tying a
season-high with 51 helpers in a four-set victory over Belmont
Abbey on Wednesday.
The Minden, Nev. Native then followed with 30 assists in a
three-set sweep of Mount Olive on Friday before recording 36
assists and five kills against Barton on Saturday to lead the Lady
Bobcats to their eighth straight win.
Lees-McRae returns to the court on Tuesday when the Lady Bobcats
travel to Misenhiemer, N.C. for a conference matchup with Pfeiffer
University. The match is slated for 7 p.m.
