HARRISONBURG, VA. - The Lees-McRae College men's volleyball team
had their six-match win streak snapped Tuesday night in a
nonconference loss to Eastern Mennonite, 3-0 (30-28, 30-22,
32-30).
All three sets were tightly contest. In the first set, the two
teams stayed close until Eastern Mennonite used a 5-1 run to take a
24-20 lead on their way to win 30-28.
Set two started with the Bobcats taking an 18-14 lead, but
Eastern Mennonite rallied to tie the match at 19 and hold on for
the 30-22 win.
The two teams couldn't finish set three in regulation scoring,
however Eastern Mennonite only need two extra points to finish the
match with the 32-30 win.
Chad Mercado led the Bobcats with 13 kills, and Robbie Rowe
followed with 12 kills. Kyle Gauger collected 11 digs, while Juan
Ramirez handed out 32 assists. Rowe and Steven Bunning finished
with three total blocks in the match.
The Bobcats will look to regain form Friday when they host Mount
Olive at 3 p.m. and Grand Canyon at 7:30 p.m. in Williams
Gymnasium.
