FERRUM, VA. -- Cara Jacobs had four goals to lift Ferrum College
to an 11-10 non-conference women's lacrosse win over Lees-McRae
College this afternoon at home.
Brooke Hewartson added three goals and a pair of assists for the
Panthers (9-3). GK Velena Taylor played all 60 minutes in Ferrum's
net, posting five saves.
Lauren Martin and Lexi King led Lees-McRae (0-6) with three
goals each, while Emily Guenthner had two. Ellie Psillas and Abby
White had a goal each. GK Martha Peacock played all 60 minutes in
net for the Bobcats, making eight saves.
The Bobcats won the groundball battle 16-15, but Ferrum won the
draws controls 12-10.
