KANSAS CITY, Kan. --- The Lees-McRae College
men's soccer team is ranked 10th in this week's edition of the
NSCAA/Continental Tires NCAA Division II Southeast Region poll,
announced NSCAA officials Tuesday.
Lees-McRae (5-3-1, 3-1 Conference Carolinas) has gotten a result
from three of its last four matches, including a pivotal 2-1
come-from-behind win over Barton College on Saturday afternoon. The
Bobcats currently hold a 2-2 record against regionally ranked
teams, including an early-season victory over Flagler College.
Lander University tops the region with a 6-2-1 record, followed
by Clayton State University (7-2-0), Anderson University (7-2-0),
Mars Hill College (7-2-0) and Coker College (8-1-0). The University
of Montevallo is sixth with a 6-2-2 record, followed by Barton
(7-2-0), Flagler (5-3-1), and Limestone College (6-3-0). Lees-McRae
is tied for 10th with UNC Pembroke (7-2-0).
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Tuesday when the Bobcats
travel to Jefferson City, Tenn. to take on Carson-Newman College in
a 7 p.m. matchup.
