KANSAS CITY, Kan. --- The Lees-McRae College
men's soccer team is ranked sixth in this week's NSCAA/Continental
Tires NCAA Division II Southeast Region Poll, announced NSCAA
officials Tuesday.
Lees-McRae (12-4-1, 9-2 Conference Carolinas) wrapped up the
regular season with a 2-1 come-from-behind win in extra time over
Limestone College, earning the second seed in this week's
Conference Carolinas Tournament. The Bobcats have been ranked among
the region's top six teams for each of the least three weeks,
sitting as high as fifth.
Conference Carolinas regular season champion and No. 5 Coker
College (15-2-0, 10-1 CC) sits atop the region, followed by No. 11
Anderson University (14-3-0), No. 19 Flagler College (12-3-2), Mars
Hill College (11-4-1), and University of Montevallo (10-3-4).
Lees-McRae is sixth, followed by North Georgia College & State
University (9-6-1), Lander University (8-6-2), University of North
Carolina at Pembroke (10-4-2), and Erskine College (9-7-1, 6-5
CC).
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Tuesday night when the
second-seeded Bobcats host seventh-seeded King College in the
quarterfinal round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament at 7 p.m.
on Tate Field.
