Brown (Anderson, S.C.) vaulted more than 20 spots in the NCAA
Division II men's basketball statistical rankings this week,
entering this Saturday's Conference Carolinas matchup with Coker
College listed ninth in the nation in three-point field goal
percentage, announced NCAA officials Wednesday.
Lees-McRae (3-10, 3-3 CC) has started the conference season
strong, posting three straight victories over Limestone College,
Pfeiffer University, and Erskine College to currently sit third in
the Conference Carolinas West Division standings. The Bobcats enter
the week ranked 47th in the nation in team three-point field goal
percentage, having knocked down 38.4 percent of their attempts from
downtown this season, while also ranking 76th in three-point field
goals per game (7.0).
Brown has scorched the nets from beyond the arc over the last
three games, connecting on 13-of-24 attempts from three-point
range, including a 6-for-6 night against Erskine on Jan. 10 to lead
the Bobcats to an 82-68 win with a game-high 22 points.
The junior guard enters the week ranked ninth in the nation in
three-point field goal percentage with a 49.3 percent clip from
downtown this season, surging 21 spots from last week's rankings.
Brown also ranks 20th in the nation in three-point field goals per
game (3.1), jumping 47 slots from the previous national
listings.
Lees-McRae returns to the court on Saturday when the Bobcats
host Coker in a conference matchup at 4 p.m. in Williams
Gymnasium.
