GAFFNEY, S.C. --- The third-ranked Limestone
College women's lacrosse team scored 13 goals in the first half,
and held visiting Lees-McRae College off the scoreboard en route to
a 22-0 win in Conference Carolinas play on Friday afternoon.
Limestone (1-0, 1-0 CC) outshot Lees-McRae (0-1, 0-1 CC) by a
35-0 margin, including a 24-0 advantage in the first half, while
holding a 29-11 edge in ground balls. Racquel Prager paced
Limestone with four goals and one assist, while Kelly Lalonde and
Sarah Oor added five and four helpers, respectively. Brittany
Howard also added three goals on the afternoon.
Jessica Travers (Asheville, N.C.) made seven saves in her
collegiate debut for the Bobcats, as Katelin Rooney (Naples, Fla.)
added three ground balls and three draw controls.
Lalonde scored the first goal of the game 27 seconds into the
first half, propelling the Saints to a 6-0 lead in the contest's
opening six minutes. Limestone would push the lead to 13-0 by the
intermission before equaling the final margin over the duration of
the second half.
Lees-McRae returns to action on Wednesday, February 22 when the
Bobcats travel to Misenheimer, N.C. to take on Pfeiffer University
in conference play at 3 p.m.
