No. 14 Lenoir-Rhyne Defeats LMC, 20-3

HICKORY, N.C. --- Lees-McRae sophomore Schuylor Dickerson tallied a pair of goals, but No. 14 Lenoir-Rhyne used an eight-goal first period to hand LMC a 20-3 loss in nonconference men's lacrosse action Wednesday afternoon at Moretz Stadium in Hickory, N.C.

The Bears (5-2) had three players with at least three goals while holding a 47-30 groundball advantage. The Bobcats (0-7) had an impressive performance from sophomore Dustin Barrow (Columbia, S.C.), who won 10 face offs.

Four different L-R players registered a goal in the first 4:34 of play while Collier Stone recorded an assist and the first of his game-high five goals.

Dickerson (Crozvet, Va.) corralled a pass from Louis Parks (Mays Landing, N.J.) before whipping a shot past Alex Squires at the 3:12 mark, 6-1.

L-R's Cole Abourjilie scored consecutive goals in the last 95 seconds of the first period, 8-1.

Dickerson struck again with 11:42 remaining in the second period to cut the deficit to seven, 9-2.

The Bears ripped off a 10-0 run before a Dalton Lamb (Clemmons, N.C.) goal from Barrow snapped the skid at the 7:51 mark.

The Bobcat defense forced 16 turnovers while Treven Saliminen (Lynden, Wash.) paced the team with six groundballs. Junior Benjamin Shifflett (Clemmons, N.C.) earned eight saves.

LMC returns to action Saturday, March 22 in a Conference Carolinas contest at Mount Olive in Mount Olive, N.C.
