Seniors Set Tone in Statement Win Against Limestone, 78-65

Senior Raul Tutton Interview

Coach Steve Hardin Interview

BANNER ELK, N.C. --- The Lees-McRae senior class combined for 43 points while the men's basketball team claimed their fifth consecutive home win by downing Conference Carolinas foe Limestone, 78-65, Saturday afternoon at Williams Gymnasium in Banner Elk, N.C.

The Bobcats (12-9, 7-7 CC) took advantage of solid shooting from senior Raul Tutton (Memphis, Tenn.), who led the team with 17 points. The Saints (5-18, 5-10) enjoyed a 20-point performance from Shaq Dance while a pair of players swiped six boards.

LMC's defense stymied the Saints in the second half, holding them to 25.9% from the floor.

Junior Cameron Redd (Garner, N.C.) jump started the offensive by stuffing a Dance layup and followed up with a good jumper from Darius Malbon (Hickory, N.C.).

Senior Jacquise Moore (Concord, N.C.) opened the ski lifts to Dunk Mountain with a thunderous jam before rattling off five consecutive points.

Moore scored 16 points while grabbing six rebounds.

Coach Steve Hardin's squad held LC without a point for 4:25, but a trio of Teron Wallace threes gave the visitors a slight 25-20 lead.

Tutton caught fire and ripped off 10 straight points while LMC took a 36-25 lead at the 3:49 mark.

Dance splashed a three with 29 seconds remaining in the half.

Both teams put on a clinic from behind the arc while combining for 16 made three pointers

Sophomore Donte Falls (Shelby, N.C.) capped off an LMC 12-5 run with a jumper plus-one at the 12:46 mark.

Despite a pair of LC triples, the Bobcats' Chad Hicks (Winston-Salem, N.C.) connected on a pair of jumpers to keep the lead at seven, 61-54.

Senior Sean Deniton (Durham, N.C.) delivered the knockout blow with a three at the 3:35 mark before his teammates sank six free throws to stave off any rally.

Moore rocked the rim with 20 seconds remaining to cap off LMC's W.

The Bobcats forced 16 turnovers and blocked six shots on the evening.

LMC welcomes CC rival King (Tenn.) Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Williams Gymnasium.
