CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- Senior Hang Lak Choi and freshman Sebastian Zuhr picked up two wins each while the Lees-McRae men's tennis team cruised past Lee University, 6-3, Tuesday afternoon at the Lee Tennis Courts in Cleveland, Tenn.
The Bobcats (3-8) won their third match in the month of March. The Flames (1-6) dropped their third consecutive match.
Lak Choi (Newton, N.C.) downed Mike Herelle, 7-5, 6-1 at No. 5 singles before teaming up with Zuhr (Burlington, N.C.) to outlast Herelle and Kip Kahler, 8-6, at No. 3 doubles.
Zuhr dispatched Kahler, 6-1, 6-0, in No. 6 singles action.
Joao Araujo (Curitiba, Puerto Rico) bounced back from a first set loss to beat Rhys Milne, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Carlos Pinel (Vitoria, Espírito Santo, Brazil) and Gabriel Muniz (Soao, Brazil) claimed wins at No. 2 & 3 singles, respectively.
Coach Skylar Warren's squad defeated Coach Patric Hynes' team. Hynes is the winningest coach in LMC history and was ranked top 50 in NCAA DII singles and top 20 in doubles during his tenure as a Bobcat. He was took the men's head coaching job in 2003-04.
The Bobcats travel to Catawba Wednesday, March 18 at 2 p.m. in Salisbury, N.C.
