MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. --- Sophomore Charlie Dutton threw a complete game four-hitter in game one, but the Lees-McRae softball team dropped a doubleheader to Mount Olive in Conference Carolinas play Sunday afternoon at Nancy C. Cassell Field in Mount Olive, N.C.

The Trojans (14-11, 5-2 CC) scored a run in the first and third while Madison Johnston needed 94 pitches in her complete game shutout effort.
Freshman Teresa Dickson (Lexington, N.C.) led the Bobcats (3-28, 0-7) with a pair of hits.
Dutton (Monroe, Ga.) issued a pair of first inning walks after getting the leadoff hitter to ground out.
UMO's Tiffany Hawley roped an RBI single to left, giving the Trojans an early 1-0 lead.
Dutton settled in and used a double play to get out of the first without further damage.
Hawley would strike again in the third when she plated a run following an LMC error.
Six Bobcats starters recorded a hit while LMC amassed seven on the day.
Dutton was a tough-luck loser despite allowing one earned run and four strikeouts in six innings of work.
Mount Olive 8, Lees-McRae 2
The Trojans (15-11, 6-2) bashed out 13 hits while five players produced multi-hit games. Lauren McGrath led the way with three.
The Bobcats' (3-29, 0-8) Sarah Stallings (Greensboro, N.C.) hit her first career homer while leading off the game with a solo blast to right.
UMO scored at least a run in every inning, including two in the first and third.
Freshman Kirsten Waters (Umatilla, Fla.) plated a run in the top of the seventh following a fielding error.
Dickson notched a pair of hits for LMC.
Sophomore Taylor Billings (2-14) (Sophia, N.C.) suffered the loss after allowing four runs in two innings of work.
LMC's doubleheader at Barton Monday, March 30 was postponed due to weather. Coach Merritt Yackey's squad welcomes Shaw for a nonconference doubleheader Wednesday, April 1 starting at 1 p.m.
