MURFREESBORO, N.C. --- Senior Amanda Decker amassed three hits and Tori Wright connected on her first homerun of the year while the Lees-McRae softball team dropped game one, 6-0, before winning game two, 5-3, against Chowan Saturday afternoon at Hawks Field in Murfreesboro, N.C.

The Hawks (5-4) scored two runs in third, fifth and sixth inning while Alora Lincoln threw a complete game shutout and scattered three hits.
CU grabbed a 2-0 lead in the third after consecutive singles plated a pair of runs.
The Bobcats squandered a golden opportunity in the fifth when Sarah Tucker (Monroe, N.C.) reached on an error and advanced after Taylor Billings (Sophia, N.C.) spanked a single to right.
Lincoln settled in and retired the next two batters to get out of the inning unscathed.
The Hawks' Brook Bowen worked some magic with a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth.
CU used four hits, including a double and a triple, to score two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Decker (Apex, N.C.) impressed with a pair of hits while Billings suffered the loss after 5.2 innings of work.

The Hawks (5-5) grabbed an early 1-0 lead when Katlyn Brummett produced a run-scoring single up the middle.
Neither offense would muster any runs while the contest turned into a pitchers' duel.
Freshman Sara Weatherholtz (Hampton, Ga.) used her speed to tie the contest in the top of the sixth.
The rookie opened the inning with a pinch-hit single before stealing second and advance to third on a fly ball. Kara Travis (Conover, N.C.) got LMC on the board with an RBI single up the middle.
LMC (2-12) senior Tori Wright (Boone, N.C.) blasted off for her first career dinger with a two-run shot in the top of the seventh.
Sophomore Sarah Stallings (Greensboro, N.C.) produced a key insurance run with an RBI double to center.
The Hawks made it interesting in the bottom half of the seventh by cutting the deficit to two, 5-3, following a pair of singles and an error.
Sophomore Charlie Dutton (Monroe, Ga.) got out of a bases loaded jam after a heads up play from Teresa Dickson. Dickson snagged a line drive for the second out of the inning before hosing a Hawk at the plate later in the play.
Dutton (1-4) was effectively wild while earning her first win on the season with eight strikeouts in seven innings.
The Bobcats return to action Monday, March 9 at 9 a.m. against Northern St. before battling Millersville at 11 a.m. in Clermont, Fla.
