BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Freshman Sebastian Zuhr and senior Carlos Pinel picked up singles wins, but the Lees-McRae men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Conference Carolinas foe Limestone Sunday afternoon at the LMC Tennis Courts in Banner Elk, N.C.
The Saints (9-5, 8-1 CC) swept doubles play. The Bobcats (5-12, 2-5) are amidst a four-match homestand.
Pinel (Vitoria, Espírito Santo, Brazil) bounced back from a first set loss, 6-4, to win in a tiebreaker against Lucas Guinski in No. 2 singles play. The senior won the second set, 6-2, before outlasting Guinski 10-8 in the tiebreaker.
Zuhr (Burlington, N.C.) made short work of Alex Poda at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-4.
LMC welcomes Belmont Abbey Wednesday, April 15 at 2 p.m. for a CC tilt in Banner Elk, N.C.
