HICKORY, N.C. --- Three Lees-McRae men's cross country runners finished in the top 11 while the team finished second at the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational at the Southside Park Friday evening in Hickory, N.C.
Freshman Austin Thompson (Cleveland, Ga.) led the charge when he grabbed fourth with a sparkling time of 27:41.44 in the 8K.
Lane Graves (Goshen, Ind.) and Cody McNeely (Salisbury, N.C.) finished 10th and 11th with times of 28:51.96 and 25:56.20, respectively.
Freshman Shawn Graves (Goshen, Ind.) earned a top-15 finish when he earned a 14th-place finish with a mark of 29:31.45. Junior Tyler Pauley (Independence, Va.) churned out a time of 30:50.85.
The team finished second overall with 57 points while King (Tenn.) grabbed the team victory with 31 points.
Tanner Cook won the men's individual title in 26:43.31.
On the women's side, sophomore Alexandria Flint (Blue Bell, Pa.) grabbed fifth in the 5K, using a time of 21:41.47.
Freshman Kristen Mitchell (Cleveland, Ga.) was 12th with a time of 22:44.21.
The Bobcats grabbed fourth in the team standings while Lenoir-Rhyne won the title with 39 points.
Coach Ley Fletcher's squads will travel to Asheville, N.C. Saturday, Sept. 19 to participate in the Asheville XC Carnival.
