GAFFNEY, S.C. --- The Lees-McRae women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Limestone in a Conference Carolinas tilt Wednesday afternoon at Saints Field in Gaffney, S.C.
The Saints (7-0, 4-0 CC) remain perfect on the season while Megan O'Connor tallied both goals for the home squad. The Bobcats (2-4, 1-1) saw their two-match win streak come to a halt while Alexis Feely (Wake Forest, N.C.) recorded her third match of seven saves or more.
The first 45 minutes was a see-saw battle while LC held a slight advantage in shots, 7-4.
Junior Sarah Mahar (Jacksonville, Fla.) tallied two of her three shots in a span of 4:04 early in the first half.
The Saints drew first blood at the 54:58 when O'Connor headed a pass from Naiara Kapstein and found the back of the net.
O'Connor struck again less than five minutes later while Millie Shaw earned the assist.
LMC travels to Pfeiffer Saturday, Sep. 26 at 5 p.m. for a CC match.
