BELMONT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey scored twice within the first six minutes of play and went on to defeat the Lees-McRae College men's soccer team by a final score of 5-0 Saturday afternoon. The loss moves LMC's record to 3-10-0 overall and 3-4-0 in league play.
Mark Trompeter and Clay Dimick both scored two goals each for the Crusaders, while Nando Morales scored the final goal for BAC.
The Crusaders totaled 21 shots compared to five for the Bobcats and they also attempted nine more corner kicks (14 to 5).
LMC will look to snap this three-match losing skid next Saturday when it hits the road to take on Barton. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
