BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team held the Pfeiffer Falcons to a hitting percentage of -.089 en route to a 3-0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-18) sweep Tuesday evening at Williams Gymnasium. It was the ninth victory of the season for LMC, which surpasses its win total from the 2015 season.
Set 1 – Lexi Zangari totaled four kills on seven attempts with no attack errors to propel the Bobcats to a 25-8 win in the opening stanza. Zangari and the rest of the Bobcats held the Falcons to a match-low -.154 hitting percentage in the first. The eight points allowed marked the lowest total that LMC has given up all season.
Set 2 – After hitting .391 in the first, the Bobcats' offense cooled off a bit and hit .250 in the second. However, Lees-McRae used five aces, including three from Darian Parsons, to clinch the second set, 25-13.
Set 3 – Pfeiffer put together its best effort of the contest in the third and held the lead as late as 12-11. The Falcons couldn't hold on, however, as the Bobcats rallied to clinch a season sweep over the Falcons, 25-18. Freshman Jac Harper put together her best numbers in the final frame as she totaled six of her eight digs in the set.
Next Up – The Bobcats will return to action this weekend when they travel to Mount Olive to take on the Trojans. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
