HARROGATE, Tenn. – Lincoln Memorial University scored five goals in the second half en route to a 6-1 victory over Lees-McRae College Wednesday afternoon in Harrogate, Tenn. The loss moves the Bobcats' record to 3-8 overall, while the Railsplitters improved to 6-4 with the victory.
Sophomore Pol Vassart scored the lone goal for the Bobcats, which marked his sixth of the season. Vassart, who is now tied for the team-lead in goals with junior Thomas Deeley, has found the back of the net in back-to-back games after scoring the game-winner Saturday against Mount Olive.
Vassart scored his goal at the 70:04 mark in the contest to make it 3-1 LMU but the Railsplitters scored three times in the last three minutes of play to seal the 6-1 victory.
The Bobcats will return to action Saturday at Chowan. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Murfreesboro, N.C.
