Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer falls to Pfeiffer in semifinals of Conference Carolinas Tournament

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – After scoring 12 goals in its last three games, the Lees-McRae College men's soccer team was shutout, 5-0, by top-seeded Pfeiffer University in the semi-final round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament. The Bobcats drop to 5-13-0 with the loss to the Falcons.

Pfieffer, which came into today's match ranked ninth in the country, used a varied offensive attack to knock off the Bobcats Thursday as its five goals came from five different players. In addition to that, the Falcons outshot LMC, 30-9, in the match.

Thomas Deeley, who was named the All-Conference Carolinas second team earlier today, paced LMC's offense with three shots on goal. Nathan Watt registered the other shot on goal for the Bobcats. Justin Brown made just his second start of the season in net for Lees-McRae and was tagged with the loss after allowing five goals on 14 attempts.

Despite being eliminated from the conference tournament, the Bobcats will have one more game to play. LMC will take on Chowan on the road on Nov. 8 in a makeup game from earlier this season. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
