Limestone knocks off Lees-McRae, 94-77, Saturday

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Rishad Felton scored  a career-high 19 points and Cedriontis Wilson added a career-best 15 points, but it wasn't enough as the Lees-McRae College men's basketball fell on the road to Limestone by a score of 94-77 Saturday in Conference Carolinas action. The loss drops LMC's record to 2-8 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

The first half was a battle of three-pointers as the two teams combined to knock down 13 shots beyond the arc. Wilson drilled five threes for the Bobcats, while Limestone's Shaun Stewart connected on four.

Limestone jumped on the Bobcats early scoring 11 of the first 13 points of the contest. LMC rallied to tie the score at 18-18. The two teams kept exchanging leads until the 3:18 mark of the first half when the scored was knotted at 30. The Saints closed out the first half on a 13-7 run to take a 43-37 lead heading into halftime.

The Bobcats cooled off a bit offensively shooting 37.8 percent after connecting on 45.7 percent of their attempts from the field in the first half. Limestone, on the other hand, shot 50 percent from the field and went 19-of-23 from the free throw line to finish off the 94-77 win over LMC.

Lees-McRae will close out the first half of its season Sunday when it travels to take on Southern Indiana. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
