Women's Lacrosse Upended in High-Scoring Bout at Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C. --- Sophomore Peyton LeCompte netted five goals and senior Jenah Tracy (Naples, Fla.) dished out a trio of assists, but the Lees-McRae women's lacrosse team lost a high-scoring affair, 17-10, against Coker at Coker Athletic Field Thursday afternoon in Hartsville, S.C.

The Cobras (3-1) used an eight-goal effort from Faith Kent. The Bobcats (2-3) saw senior Mia Emmerson (Orlando, Fla.) make 18 saves.

Three different LMC players scored in the first 14:55 while Coker held a small 4-3 lead.

LeCompte (Carolina Beach, N.C.), Taylor Drake (Jupiter, Fla.) and Callie Gregg (Roanoke, Va.) were the responsible parties.

The Cobras responded with a 5-0 run in a span of 4:12.

Coach Lexi King's squad scored twice in the final 6:35 of the first half.

Constance Madden (Stuart, Fla.) scored with 3:08 on the clock, notching a goal for a third consecutive game.

Coker's Haley McCusker tallied a pair of free position goals to extend the lead to 15-6.

LeCompte caught fire and registered three goals in a span of 4:30 in the second half while Drake earned two assists.

Chartella Taylor (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and Sara Henderson (Huntersville, N.C.) scooped four groundballs apiece.

The Bobcats travel to North Greenville for a Conference Carolinas bout Saturday, March 12 at 2 p.m. in Tigerville, S.C.
