BRISTOL, Tenn. --- Junior Keenan Freitas led the team with six kills while the Lees-McRae men's volleyball team fell to King (Tenn.), 11-25, 13-25, 18-25, in Conference Carolinas play Wednesday evening at the Student Center in Bristol, Tenn.

The Tornado (7-20, 4-11 CC) swung better than .340 in each set while Sean Luhmann amassed 10 kills. The Bobcats (1-19, 0-13) saw senior Drew Blecher (York, Pa.) dish out 18 assists.

Junior Dominick Hamilton (Naples, Fla.) paced the defense with five digs.

Junior Mark Shayka (Hamilton, Va.) delivered five kills and a pair of aces.

King led wire-to-wire in the first and used strong defense from Jon Wheaton, who had consecutive block assists late in the set.

Freshmen Jack Frank (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Hector Serviat (Miami, Fla.) collected two kills apiece in the second.

LMC held a slim 9-8 advantage in the final frame after a Shayka kill. The Tornado responded with a 7-1 run to grab a 15-10 lead.

Shakya cut the deficit to two with consecutive aces.

Despite a late rally, King staved off the comeback effort to complete the sweep.

The Bobcats will play all of their matches at home and open up the slate with a match against Coker Friday, April 1 at 7 p.m. in Williams Gymnasium.
