Castle Ties Career-High with 22 Saves; Carney Scores Twice in Road Loss at No. 8 Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. --- Freshman Cameron Castle tied a career-high with 22 saves and Dane Carney notched a pair of goals while the Lees-McRae men's lacrosse team dropped a 16-3 bout to No. 8 Mount Olive at Amon Field in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon in Mount Olive, N.C.

The Trojans (10-2, 4-0 CC) saw Brett Kingston notch four goals and a pair of assists. The Bobcats (2-9, 0-4) saw freshman Alec Molander (Saanichton, British Columbia) score a goal and dish out an assist.

Molander put LMC up 1-0 at the 12:11 mark in the first quarter before UMO's Jacob Ball responded with a pair of his own.

Molander found Carney (Manchester, England) open in the opening moments of the second quarter, tying the contest at 2.

Carney notched an unassisted mark on a man-up advantage with 8:22 remaining in regulation.

Castle (Fort Collins, Colo.) amassed all of his saves in a 43-plus minutes.

LMC's Blaine Stottlar (Clinton, N.Y.) paced the team with nine shots.

Senior Dillon Quinn (Greensboro, N.C.) won six face offs in the contest.

Freshman Tristan Hashemi (Greenville, S.C.) scooped three groundballs.

LMC treks to Brevard Tuesday, April 12 at 4 p.m. for a nonconference game in Brevard, N.C.
