Jespersen, Deeley Pace Offense in Shootout at Southern Wesleyan, 5-3

CENTRAL, S.C. --- Sophomore Palle Jespersen scored twice and delivered an assist while the Lees-McRae men's soccer team won a shootout, 5-3, against Southern Wesleyan in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon at Childs Field in Central, S.C.

The Bobcats (1-3, 1-0 CC) offense put eight shots on frame while junior Tyler Pavlet (Goodyear, Ariz.) made seven saves. The Warriors (2-2, 0-1) wasted no time scoring after finding the back of the net at the 2:58 mark.

Jespersen (Malente, Germany) tied it at one in the 11th minute while Thomas Deeley (Oxford, England) recorded his first of four points.

James Morgan (Newcastle, England) put LMC up, 2-1, after Jespersen delivered a pass.

Pol Vassart (Arnhem, Netherlands) and Deeley registered goals in a span of 2:17.

Jespersen turned in the knockout blow with 2:52 left in regulation while Deeley tallied his second assist on the evening.

Both teams registered 14 shots.

LMC travels to North Greenville for a CC match Wednesday, Sep. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Tigerville, S.C.
