Masse Scores First Collegiate Goal; Women's Soccer Falls at Erskine, 3-1

DUE WEST, S.C. --- Freshman Kennedy Masse scored her first collegiate goal, but the Lees-McRae women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Erskine in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon at Huggins Field in Due West, S.C.

The Flying Fleet (3-3, 2-0 CC) took a 1-0 lead after 1:55 of action. The Bobcats (2-5, 2-1) concluded a seven-match road trip to open the 2016 slate.

EC's Kayla Kieffer notched the opening goal less two minutes into the contest.

Masse (Jacksonville, Fla.) finished off a Julie Perkins (Durham, N.C.) pass to tie it at one at the 25:24 mark.

Neither offense would score until halfway through the second stanza.

The Flying Fleet tallied the go-ahead goal off the foot of Sarah Zelder while Jillian Koves earned an assist.

EC made it 3-1 at the 77:27 mark after an Ani Miller-Wells goal.

Sophomore Alexis Feely (Raleigh, N.C.) made eight saves on the day, including five in the first half.

LMC plays at home for the first time when it welcomes UNC Pembroke Monday, Sep. 19 at 5 p.m. to Tate Field.
