Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Saints soar past Bobcats Wednesday, 2-0

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Limestone College knocked off the Lees-McRae College women's soccer team by a 2-0 final score Wednesday evening in Gaffney, South Carolina. The loss moves Lees-McRae's record to 2-8-2 overall and 2-3-2 in league matches, while the Saints improve to 10-2-0 overall and 7-0-0 in Conference Carolinas contests with the victory.

Limestone scored one goal in each half to account for its two goals in the contests. The Saints were constantly attacking the Bobcat defense Wednesday. Over the course of the 90 minutes, Limestone outshot Lees-McRae, 36-5, overall, which included a 15-3 differential in shots landing on goal.

Two of Lees-McRae's three shots on goal came from defenders against the Saints. Riley Neese and Cailyn Pichler both accounted for shots from LMC's backline, while Sarah Giarusso added the third shot on goal for the Bobcats.

Alexis Feely took the loss in goal for Lees-McRae, which dips her record to 2-7-2 on the season. Feely stopped 12 shots in 14 opportunities against the Saints. It marked the seventh time this fall that Feely has made 10 or more saves in a single match.

The Bobcats will look to get back into the win column Saturday afternoon when they travel to Spartanburg, S.C. to take on Converse College. The match between Lees-McRae and the Valkyries is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m.
