Thompson and Capps pace Cross Country in final race of the regular season

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College cross country teams competed in their final races before the conference championships Saturday in Greenville, South Carolina. The men's team finished ahead of five Conference Carolinas opponents en route to a fourth place finish, while the women's squad finished ninth out of nine teams.

The men's team was paced by the duo of Austin Thompson and Nolan Capps on Saturday. Thompson finished 23^rd with a time of 16:33.10, while Capps finished a spot behind Thompson with a time of 16:36.59. Josh Hall also notched a top 30 finish for LMC finishing 30^th with a time of 16:49.06.

On the women's team, meanwhile, the top finishes came from Jordyn Halvorsen and Kaitlyn Gearing. Halvorsen was 38^th and Gearing was 39^th out of 57 female runners Saturday.

Next up for the Bobcats will be the Conference Carolinas Championships in Concord, North Carolina on October 20.
