Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Bobcats battle but fall to No. 2 Lincoln Memorial, 100-80

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's basketball team opened its 2017-18 regular season with a tough test as it hosted the No. 2 team in the country in Lincoln Memorial Friday in Williams Gymnasium. LMC battled but ended up falling to the Railsplitters by a score of 100-80.

A major key in LMU's win over the Bobcats Friday was its work on the glass. The Railsplitters out-rebounded LMC by 20 (52-32) over the course of the 40 minutes. Leading this charge was Emmanuel Terry who not only grabbed a team-high 21 rebounds but he also paced his squad on the scoreboard with 22 points.

Lees-McRae hung with the Railsplitters early on in the game as it was within one possession of LMU until 11 minutes was remaining in the first half. After that point, Lincoln Memorial held the advantage with its largest lead coming at the final buzzer by 20 points.

LMC was led Friday by Jason Saintizaire who totaled 17 points with five rebounds coming off the bench. Kamil Williams scored 14 points despite only playing 16 minutes in the matchup. Lepreece Lynch (12 points) and Quay Kimble (10 points) also finished in double figures for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats will return to action Saturday when they host Tusculum at Williams Gymnasium. The Pioneers fell to King by a score of 100-94 in the first game of the day in Banner Elk. Tip-off for Saturday's game is set for 6 p.m.
