BANNER ELK, N.C. – Shooting a season-high 58.2 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range, the Lees-McRae College men's basketball team ran past Southern Wesleyan in Conference Carolinas action Tuesday night at Williams Gymnasium, 93-80. The victory pushes Lees-McRae's record on the season to 5-3.

The Bobcats began Tuesday's contest vs. SWU firing on all cylinders offensively. LMC shot 63 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes of action and 64.3 percent from three. Southern Wesleyan was able to get the Bobcats into foul trouble with 14 fouls in the first. Even with some of LMC's players getting into some early foul trouble, it was still able to hold off SWU to hold a 47-42 lead.

LMC's offense cooled off some in the second half but still made over half of its attempts.  A major key in Lees-McRae's success in the second was its work on the glass. Lees-McRae out-rebounded SWU 27-19 and grabbed six offensive rebounds. Lepreece Lynch grabbed seven rebounds and Marcus Anderson notched five as well to lead these efforts. After winning the rebounding battle, the Bobcats were able to hold off the Warriors for a 93-80 victory.

On the night the Bobcats had five players reach double figures on the scoresheet. Lynch led all scorers with 17 points to go with nine rebounds. Jason Saintizaire, Quay Kimble and Jordan Turner had 15, 14 and 13 points respectively. Rounding out the double figure scorers for LMC was Kamil Williams who scored 10 points.

After playing three games in five days, the Bobcats won't be back in action until the seventh of December when it welcomes Johnson University to Williams Gymnasium. The start time for that game is set for 7 p.m.
