Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Slow start plagues LMC Women's Basketball at North Greenville, 77-56

TIGERVILLE S.C. – A slow start plagued the Lees-McRae College women's basketball team Saturday at North Greenville as it ended up falling to the Crusaders by a final score of 77-56. The loss moves LMC's record to 4-22 overall and 4-16 in conference play.

In the first 20 minutes of action, the Bobcats managed just 14 points on 5-of-26 shooting from the field. The Crusaders used this slow start by LMC to open up a 24-point lead at the half. Karen Donehew paced all Crusader scorers with 16 points in the first.

The Bobcats played much better in the second half as they outscored North Greenville 42-39. Brea Forbes scored 20 of her 22 points on the afternoon in the second half to pace LMC's offense. However, the play of Forbes and the rest of the Bobcats was not enough as the early hole was too much to overcome as LMC dropped its fourth straight game, 77-56.

Breana Hardnett was the only other Bobcat scorer to reach double figures Saturday with 10 points. Additionally, Olivia Unger matched a career-high with nine points in 26 minutes of action.

Lees-McRae will head to Barton next Tuesday for another Conference Carolinas road matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. from Wilson, N.C.
